According to its Postface, the text was originally written in Tibetan and later translated into Mongolian and Chinese. Unfortunately, only the Chinese translation has survived. In the Taishō Canon (No. 1905, vol. 45, pp. 912a-915a), it is entitled ‘Genben shuo yiqie you bu pichu xixue lüefa 根本説一切有部苾芻習學略法 compiled by Bhikṣu ḥPhags-pa, Chaplain of the Yuan Emperor 元帝師苾芻拔合思巴集’. The text was also included in other Chinese Tripiṭakas such as the Northern Ming Canon 明北藏 (No. 1132, Fu 夫). The present paper analyses the content of the text closely following its composition structured into five sections and 253 items, based on the notion of three types of Vinaya 戒學律藏. I also compare ḥPhags-pa’s anthology with Yijing’s 義浄 translation of the Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinayavibhaṅga. It appears that although the Summary Teachings on the [Moral] Training of Mūlasarvāstivādin Monks is based on the Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinayavibhaṅga, ḥPhags-pa brought some original contributions to the interpretation of some ethical and monastic rules which were not defined in a strict and unambiguous manner in the original Vinaya sources. The Summary Teachings on the [Moral] Training of Mūlasarvāstivādin Monks acquired a canonical status during the Yuan Dynasty and had a lasting influence on the development of the Chinese Saṅgha institutions in the following centuries.}, pages = {196--174}, title = {『根本説一切有部苾芻習学略法』について}, year = {2008}, yomi = {チンダメン} }
